King’s is pleased to be able to offer a rolling Internship programme for law students to work in our busy Legal Services team.

You will be working in one of the busiest and most experienced NHS Legal teams assisting us with our challenging, high-profile work to reflect the size and complexity of this unique Trust. The variety of the Legal Services’ team’s workload is huge, ranging from dealing with clinical negligence claims, personal injury claims, Inquests, High Court/Court of Protection hearings, regulating difficult patients/visitors to advising the Trust clinicians across our hospitals on a variety of matters. Whilst every intern’s individual experience will be different, the role is designed to be similar to that of a trainee Solicitor rather than a work experience placement, and so there will be a degree of administrative work as well as assisting the Solicitors with specific tasks and shadowing at hearings.

This is a unique opportunity for those interested in either healthcare law and/or litigation, particularly in an in-house setting, and will look impressive on your CV! Most of our interns have gone to secure either paid legal employment or Training Contracts following the programme.

The programme is currently unpaid and you would ideally be able to commit to at least one fixed day per week for a period of up to 3 months. We are flexible if you have holiday, exam or other work commitments within the programme.

If you are interested or have any questions, please contact Peter Boyce (Head of Legal) at and send in your CV and a brief covering letter explaining why you think you would be a good candidate for this Internship. We look forward to hearing from you.
